Rebecca Hirst (BExSportSc, BIP) is trained as an Integrative Psychotherapist who works with her clients in a collaborative & person-centred way to achieve change.

Rebecca is an ACA accredited Counselor, with a bachelor’s degree in Integrative Psychotherapy. She works with individuals in a personalised, collaborative way based on their needs, unique personal history, personality and goals. In her therapeutic work Rebecca assists clients to develop insight, learn helping tools, enhance their relationship to themselves, and develop healthy relating skills.

Rebecca is a nature-lover who values embodied and artistic practices such as music, dance and art. She has a background in teaching, exercise prescription and supporting people with disability.   These aspects of her career history add context to her passion for psychotherapy. Rebecca’s interests inform her practice, through the integration of psychodynamic, cognitive, and somatic approaches. She is open-minded and inclusive of alternative viewpoints and experiences, as well as different cultures, spiritual beliefs, and abilities. She believes that every person deserves to feel safe, worthy and content and experience a life of wellbeing, personal freedom and possibility.

Rebecca believes that, with the support of a trusted therapeutic relationship, each person can access their innate capacity to change. Accordingly, she works in a collaborative, warm and person-centred way to promote safety and growth. She sees a strong therapeutic relationship as essential to good work, and takes special care to develop a deep understanding of individual needs based on the many facets of her clients’ past and present contexts.

Utilising the framework of Integrative Psychotherapy, a broad, systems-based, developmentally-oriented and trauma-informed therapeutic model, Rebecca works with a variety of concerns. She provides individualised support for adults, for issues including:

  • Depression and anxiety
  • Grief and loss
  • Low self-esteem
