Andrea Rothschild is a wise and kind hearted therapist with more than 20 years of experience.
Andrea is a qualified Mental Health Social Worker and Family Therapist who brings a broad spectrum of knowledge and skills to the therapeutic setting. Her experience draws on many years of practice in arenas that include Medical Social Work and Child and Family Welfare.
Andrea works with individuals from adolescents through to the elderly. She embraces working from a Family Systems perspective, engaging with couples and the broader family unit applying a variety of techniques to achieve the best outcomes.
Andrea believes that therapy is a conversation, a respectful interaction between people, where issues, needs and goals are addressed. She prioritizes client engagement in the therapeutic process by being authentic, warm, compassionate and open minded.
Andrea bases her approach on “where the client is at”. She believes clients benefit from different approaches provided there is a holding environment that includes emotional support and psychoeducation.
Andrea places emphasis on encouraging clients to realize their strengths and agency in problem solving. The therapy she provides is tailored to the client’s needs. She can offer Brief Solution Focused Therapy or long term Psychotherapy.
