Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Training

The Melbourne Centre of Psychotherapy training and professional development courses are for designed for Registered Psychologists and Psychology Registrars who are interested in learning about or building upon previous training in Psychoanalysis, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and/or Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.

General Practitioners, Psychiatrists and Registrars within the field of Medicine are welcome to attend.

At The Melbourne Centre of Psychotherapy in our teaching and our practice we  honour the historical origins of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. The central tenant of honouring this history is a recognition of how intertwined and interdependent the field of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy is with that of Psychoanalysis. In our short courses we are currently focusing on deepening one’s understanding of key Psychoanalysts and their key contributions to the field of Psychoanalysis and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. Emphasis is placed on close reading of psychoanalytic papers and practical application of psychoanalytic concepts.
