Dr Lisa Engle is a Senior Registered Psychologist with over 15-years of experience working with adults with a range of mental health challenges. Lisa utilises a number of therapeutic modalities including Schema Therapy, Mindfulness-based therapies, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and EMDR.
Lisa’s Registration in Psychology has an endorsement in health. This means she has received training in the ways in which physical health impacts upon mental health. Lisa believes that sleep, diet, exercise and relationships are not just ‘background music’ but important influences on mental health.
Lisa credits the strength of the relationship between client and therapist as fundamental if the client is to transcend the problems for which they have sought therapy. Therefore her approach is warm, non-judgemental, open-ended and flexible so that stasis in therapy is avoided. The therapeutic process is one that is energised and creative and tailored to the individual client. In therapy Lisa will endeavour to identify and amplify the client’s strengths and innate resources so that new endings are created for old stories.
