Harry, who has over 35 years of experience as a Psychologist, offers Psychodynamic Psychotherapy for older adolescents and adults presenting with a broad range of difficulties and concerns.

With a warm and supportive approach, Harry offers Psychodynamic Psychotherapy with the overall aim of helping clients to discover themselves more fully as the means of developing greater and more enduring feelings of wellbeing, increased self-esteem and confidence, resourcefulness, greater perseverance in life as well as increasing one’s ability to develop and enjoy more positive relationships.

Harry was first registered as a Psychologist by the Victorian Psychological Council in 1989. He received accreditation as a Clinical Psychologist from the Psychologists Registration Board of Victoria in 1996 which continues with the establishment of the Psychology Board of Australia in 2011.

Harry chose to specialise in offering Psychodynamic Psychotherapy because of its focus on facilitating emotional growth as the primary method of achieving healing and development.

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy helps people to live more effectively by discovering often unconscious forces or conflicts operating between various aspects of one’s self in defiance of one’s best efforts, the repetition of defensive patterns of relating to others that have become entrenched due to negative childhood experiences as well as resistances due to anxieties, all of which work to inhibit and frustrate one’s desire to live a more fulfilling life.

People who have an awareness of their inner life often gain the most from Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. However, the time required for positive developments to be achieved differs for each individual.

Harry has also found that that Psychodynamic Psychotherapy can be of assistance to individuals with ADHD as a means of developing a more organised and regulated mind which can be better utilised to manage life more effectively.
