Dr Jessica Mareld (BBSc, GradDip Psych, DClinPsy) is a Registered Psychologist with an integrative aproach and appreciation for the complexity of human suffering that sits alongside our capacity for growth.
Jessica has many years of experience working in clinical mental health programs. Prior to this Jessica completed a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, writing her doctoral research thesis on the discrimination experienced by gender and sexuality diverse people. This issue is of particularly concern and interest to Jessica in her work with clients.
Over the years she has developed an immense respect for the human condition, which informs her style of interaction with individual clients. Focussed on matching individual needs with evidence-based intervention, Jessica integrates a variety of psychological approaches including cognitive, behavioural, narrative, experiential, humanist, mindfulness and positive psychology.
In her work with clients Jessica draws broadly on philosophies of psychotherapy including attachment theory and psychodynamic theory. She is particularly interested in understanding and remediating the impacts of trauma, minority stress, relational difficulties, anxiety and depression. Furthermore, Jessica is in the final stages of working towards obtaining her clinical endorsement.
